Fabulous
Hi everyone, hope you all had a good Christmas and are gearing up for the New Year. I'm still on school holiday and don't go back to work until next Wednesday, so I'm enjoying spending time with the family. I have however, managed to get a card made for the Less is More challenge which this week is Just One Word.
I wasn't sure at first which word I was going to use - 'thanks', 'friend', 'love' etc. etc. the list is endless, but stumbled upon this word and knew I had just the thing to go with it...
I love printing my words straight onto my cards, it means they go on nice and straight and I'm not fiddling cutting out (I do struggle with straight). The images are Mini Diva Doodles from Pink Petticoat which I've left white, just coloured the flowers and added some glitter. I then finished with embossing a little frame round each handbag, think it's turned out quite well.
I'm also entering this card into the colourQ challenge - black, white and one other colour.
The last thing for me to say is I hope everyone has a great New Year and look forward to 2012.
Love

Happy Christmas Everyone
Hi everyone
Hope you all ready for the big man to arrive in two sleeps time - I think I nearly am. Just finished a mountain of ironing and four hours later it's all ready to be put away.
I've been a very bad blogger recently, time just ran away with me, but hopefully in the new year I will try and be better. Anyway I wanted to show you a couple of things before I sign off for Christmas. The first is a wedding card I was asked to make by a lady who runs the local toddler group my son goes to. Her daughter is getting married on New Years Day...
I've made similar cards before in different colours but think that they work really well. I printed their names on to pearly card and added a vellum overlay with the wedding day greeting on the front. The flowers and gems are a bit fiddly but they look nice when they're done. I made a matching box to send it in too.
The second is of my three year old son, Oliver, who is in the Foundation class at school. They did a little Christmas show, it wasn't a nativity so they didn't dress up but they sang songs about what they liked about Christmas. It was very cute and he remembered all his songs - as you can see, he was a twinkly star on a Christmas tree.
Anyway that's it for now, got a bit more wrapping to do them I'm going to sit down with a glass of red and watch Singing in the Rain - I love that film.
Hope everyone has a very happy Christmas and a wonderful new year - enjoy, I know I will!!!

Less is More - Green
Hi everyone, hope you are all having a good weekend. It's very wet and windy in West Yorkshire today, so I've managed to get some cards made this afternoon. One of which is the Less is More challenge which has a Green theme. Green is one of my favourite colours and here is my card...
Sorry about the picture, it's dark now and the autoflash on my phone makes pearlescent card very shiny. Anyway, I typed the words Wishing You Peace on the computer and printed onto the card. I then stamped the Craftwork Cards snowflakes in three different green memento ink pads, a bit of stickles and a nice green ribbon to finish. Hope you like it, I've already had a look at some others and as usual they are fab.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Bring on the BLING
Hi everyone, hope you all having a good day. It's abit windy up North, but that's not stopped my darling 3 year old boy going to school in his SHORTS!!!
Anyway I'm nicely tucked away in my little back bedroom with the second post of the week (wow, can't believe it).
This one is for the Less is More challenge which this week is Bring on the Bling! I haven't done a LIM challenge for sometime, other things just seemed to get in the way of getting any crafting done. So I was pleased when I finally got down to making a card for this one, and here it it...
I cut out a Christmas tree shape onto card with a free template I had and with my Art Institute glue covered the whole thing and then sprinkled on lovely lovely green sparkly glitter, added a few red gems and a sentiment from Pink Petticoat there you have it, and it really is quite sparkly. I'm pleased with how it's turned out as this was a lightbulb moment at three in the morning, and you just never know with those ideas.
Hope you like it.

Winter Blue's
Hi everyone, well it's been a long while since I last posted anything on here. I have been looking at what's been going on though. It's just been such a busy time with work, kids and three craft fairs under my belt. Hopefully now I can start blogging again.
I met one of my blogging friends the other day, Lisa Jane from My Makes 'n' Me. I won some of her Candy and we realised we lived within 5 miles of each other so she popped by for a cuppa. We had a lovely chat and got on really well so I hope to see her again soon.
Anyway, I wanted to show you a card I made recently. I'm also entering this card into the Ladybug Craft Ink Challenge which is named 'Winter Blues'....
The image is an old Elzybells stamp teamed up with some Pink Petticoat papers and Craftwork Cards Candi.
Hope you like it.
Have a lovely weekend.

HELP - COMPUTER SAVVY ADVICE NEEDED
Hi everyone, sorry it's been soooo long but it's been mega busy at home, work etc. plus I also spent a lovely week in Marbella with some of my friends from work, a fab time was had by all.
Now it's back to the grind and I'm busy making Christmas cards for a few fayres I'm going to.
But I've got a little problem, I've recently bought and downloaded some Hero Arts Digi Kits, these come as PNG files, however when I've copied / imported the image into word or Serif Page Plus I can't get rid of the grey background behind the image. I've tried everything I can think of, you are my only hope. It must be possible somehow cos I've seen cards made with them, I'm not sure if I'm using the wrong programme.
Is there anyone out there who can help.
Thanks

Christmas is on its way
Hi everyone, hope you are all having a good Sunday.
I've been busy making some Christmas Cards. I am going to be selling them at local craft fayres later in November and December, but just thought you might like a look...
This one is an elzybells stamp that I've coloured with Copics. I've also used some Pink Petticoat papers and a message from Craftwork Cards.
This is also an Elzybells stamp with PP papers and a CC message. I'm really pleased with how they've turned out.
If you are knocking around in Mirfield November / December I'm going to put on the fayres I will be doing at a later date.
Hope you like them.

Less Is More - Week 36
Hi everyone, hope you all having a good Saturday. I've not blogged again, for ages. Time just seems to be flying by. My hubby has been working from home recently and as we share the spare bedroom I've not had much crafting time apart from evenings, but then I'm shattered and want to catch up with telly. Hopefully I'm going to try and get back into the swing of things. I thought I'd start off with the Less is More challenge. This week its a one layer challenge to use hearts. Chrissie and Mandi I really hope this counts...
I chopped the bottom 3cm off a card blank. Stamped the hearts (from Elzybells) in Memento Blue Danube, cut them out and stuck them to the bottom, added a ribbon and sparkle and voila! I'm quite pleased with it.
Hope you like them and hopefully they will count (please!!!). Sorry about the pictures the weather here is pants and I can't get any decent light.
Bye for now.

Less is More - Week 33 Card No 6
Well here is another one for the Less is More 1000 challenge...
I stamped this nativity scene with black Staz on and then attached some double sided adhesive film to the front and covered it with Art Institute Crystal glitter (it doesn't show very well, but it is very sparkly).
hope you like it.

Less is More - Week 33 Card No 3
Hello again,
The next three cards for the Less is More challenge I've made are based around the same design only I've done them in Christmassy colours. I will post each one separately so they count towards the 1000 (I hope they do even though they are the same design).
It's basically Card Candi, from the same colour pack following the circle of the sentiment.

This is the next card for the Less Is More 1000 cards challenge.
I've stamped and embossed in silver a Penny Black 'twinking' tree and added a few gems, I have a feeling I'm going to be making this in all different colours, I really like it. Hope you do too.

This is the first...
I've stamped Paula Pascual snowflakes with memento ink and then used a Sizzlits die. Added a bit of glitter and hey presto.
Hope you like it.

Sunflowers
Hi again,
This is my second card for the Less is More challenge, which this week has a metallic theme..
You may have seen from my previous post that I went through a bulk buying phase, I think I've about 200 of these!! Anyway they've been sitting in a box on the shelf and now is the perfect time to dust them off. The sentiment is Paula Pascual (sorry it's a tad wonky), but I am quite pleased with how this card has turned out - might have a use for the other 194 sunflowers afterall!!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Less is More - Week 31
Well, good afternoon everyone, hope you all having a good weekend. Well it's back to school tomorrow (for both me and the kids), so the uniforms all ironed, new shoes ready and were good to go! We've had a brilliant six weeks holiday, but I'm feeling now I need to get some sort of routine back into my life.
Something that is part of my weekly routine is the challenge over at Less is More, and this week it's a colour challenge and the lovely ladies want to see METALLIC.
We are delighted to be sponsored by The Craft Barn this month. They are generously donating £20 voucher to the winner."
So here is my little offering:-
A few years ago, I went through a bit of a 'bulk buying' phase and I bought (amongst other things) about 100 of these little metal watering cans, and if I'm honest its the first time I've actually used one!
However some friends of ours have recently moved back to Mirfield, so I though it would be a good idea and combine the challenge with a new home card for Claire, Phil and their family.
Hope you like it, off to have a go at entry number two now.

Less is More - Week 30 - Recipe
Hi everyone
Hope you all having a good week. Just got back from a bank holiday camping trip, had a great time but boy was it chilly on a night. Glad to be back in my own bed.
So after doing some blogging catch up, I wanted to get cracking with this weeks Less is More challenge, which this week is to use a recipe of 3 different challenges. So here is my offering...
I decided to uses the dreaded acetate, which I actually quite like using but its a swine to take a decent photograph of! The card base is a pearl navy. The snowflake stamps are from Craftwork Cards which I've stamped with white Stazon.
The large snowflake is also Craftwork Cards which I've embossed with white glittery embossing powder. So my three are:- Use Acetate, Ink and Something that Moves. I've stamped up a few more bits of acetate so you might see them later made up too.
Hope you like it.

Anyone For Tea?
Just a quick post tonight as the kids are back and chaos has started up again. I've made this thank you card for our friends Steven and Linda who live out in Spain and we were lucky enough to go and visit them whilst we were out on holiday there...
The stamp was a freebie from the August Quick Cards Made Easy magazine. I've coloured the tea cups with Copics. The frame and sentiment are from Craftwork Cards. I've lightly chalked the daisy flowers with blue chalk and gone over them with some Stickles just for a touch of sparkle.

Less is More - Week 29
Hi everyone, hope you having a good Saturday. I've had a really busy day, the kids have been at my mum and dad's so I managed to get my Less Is More card made.
The theme for this weeks Less Is More challenge is 'Things that Move'. So as its Summer (just) and it's the Mirfield Show tomorrow I thought I'd do some bunting. I've kept my colours quite soft on this card, but I might have a go at a really bright one...
The papers are from Craftwork Cards Vintage Rose as is the Candi. I don't know why but I'm into faux stitching at the moment so I went round all the edges, the black just seems to lift the colours.
Hope you like it.
Bye for now

New Baby Boy
Hi everyone, Happy Saturday Afternoon
My kids have gone to stay with grandma and grandad for the night (yippee) which means that I've been able to sneak away and do some crafty pottering.
My friend and hairdresser Zoe has recently had a baby boy. Not only does she do a fab job with my barnet but also asks me to make alot of cards for her, weddings etc. So I thought I would make one especially for her...
I have to say I struggled a bit to start with getting a layout sorted in my head, but then I glanced upon DawnyP's layout for her Simon Says Stamp challenge card, so I took my inspiration from her - Thank you! The papers are from the Jayne Nestroenko Summer Adorables CD Rom and the Image is from Pink Petticoat.
I've coloured him with Copics and glittered him for a bit of sparkle. I've also decorated the inside - a bit!
I'm going to enter this into some challenges...

Less Is More - Week 28
Hi everyone,
Having missed the last 3 Less Is More challenges as I was on my holidays, I couldn't wait to get cracking on this one, but then I lost my Mojo!! The theme this week was to use inks or ink pads either in a way you've never tried before or using a favourite technique. Oh boy have I struggled with this one, I've been waking in the night trying to come up with ideas. I'm no big ink person. I've got ink pads, and I love to stamp but that's as far as it goes. I tried about three different techniques from spritzing them to smudging them all of which turned out looking like a dogs breakfast. So I decided to simplify it (for my benefit) and go back to basics, so here is my card...
I used my Versa Colour ink pads and the sheet that the die cut sentiments from Craftwork Cards come attached to, I stuck it to my card and started blotting, I used a Paula Pascual stamp in the middle, very simple and very basic.
I have had a look at some already entered on the blog and can I just say there are some extremely talented people out there I am in ore!!
Hope you like my humble little offering.
Bye for now.

Brace Yourselves - this is a long one!!!
Hi everyone again, just wanted to upload some pictures of what I've been up to these past few weeks to make up for my silence, be patient with me got some pictures. First of all the holiday. We rented a villa in La Drova, Gandia, Spain for two weeks, we went with some friends and we also know a family that live locally to that area too, this is the villa and the views...
None of me yet, those are on my hubbies camera and we haven't got round to downloading them yet (need to vet them first)! We had a fab time with gorgeous weather all the time.
So I came back on Saturday afternoon and on Sunday morning, drove down to Rugby to a Jayne Nestorenko workshop. We used her new Adorables stamps. We only made two cards, but there was quite alot involved (including a Sunday lunch). Here are the cards I made...
We made a twisted easel card (minus the sentiment because mine smudged and I didn't have time to do another one). The stamps are from the 'Wash Day Wishes' set and I coloured them with Copics - I just love the cat!
The other card we made was a stepper card. The image is 3 separate stamps from the 'Secret Garden' set, so we had to do a bit of masking, I coloured it with Copics and I'm really pleased with how it came out. I was also sitting next to Paul Church (demonstrator on Create and Craft) and he though the colouring was "gorgeous"..
Sorry it's a bit blurred.
So that's about it for now, hope this justifies my absence. Still haven't sorted my LIM card yet!!
Bye for now.

Hi Everyone - I'm Back!!!
Just wanted to let you all know that I've not fallen off the face of the earth completely. But have been away on my jolly holidays for the last two weeks in Spain with the family, had a fantastic time, the weather was gorgeous and we all had a good rest (well as much as you can with a 7 and 3 year old!!).
So we got back yesterday afternoon (Saturday) and today oh joy of all joys (forget washing and ironing), I've been down to Rugby to attend a crafty workshop with Jayne Nestorenko. We made two projects with her Adorables stamps had a full three course Sunday lunch and caught up with some lovely ladies (and gents) that also previously been other workshops, and generally had a lovely day, oh and spent some money too!!!
Hopefully tomorrow when I've got back to normal I'll post some pictures of the holiday and the projects from the workshop (also got to get my thinking cap on for the Less is More challenge - this is a tough one!!
Bye for now.

Getting the young one's card making
Hi again,
Just wanted to share this card with you...
My daughter, Evie has just made it for her Grandad Dave (my dad) who is going to be 60 on Friday. She did everything herself (she's 7) stamped him, coloured and chalked the sky and grass. She even got his favourite football colours in for Leeds Utd (I know it's not exact but never mind!). I think he's fab!!
I've entered it into a challenge over at Messy's Mini Missions - Summer Fun

Less is More Week 24 - Circles
Well hello everyone, long time no blogging. Its been such a busy time I haven't really had time to make any cards, but now I'm officially on holiday for 6 WEEKS yippeeee!! So I hope to be able to do more.
I did however make a card and picture for my friend which I will try and upload later in the week (she's just had a baby girl).
Anyway onto this weeks Less is More challenge (I am soooo late with this), but the theme this week is CIRCLES. Struggled a bit, but this is what I came up with...
I've used a Craftwork Cards message and gone round the edges with Candi. I quite like how it's turned out and am going to try it in different colours.
I will try and get round to your blogs and leave you comments but got to get on and make my Dad's 60th birthday card which is for this Friday (will try and post when finished) so no pressure!!
Hope you like the card and enjoy the rest of your week.

Less Is More - No 2 - Gizelle the Giraffe
Evening all,
Had a bit more time this afternoon as my kids went out on a bike ride, I decided to hunt through my stash to see if I could come up with anything else 'leggy', for the Less is More challenge and I came across this image. She is called Gizelle and she is an old freebie digital image from Little Musings. I've had her a while and not used her, but I think I've fallen in love. She comes either with or without tutu, but she just looks gorgeous with it I had to use that one...
She's printed directly onto the card and I've coloured her with watercolour crayons. I've also added a touch of glitter to her tutu.
As it was getting late, I couldn't think of any witty sentiment to put with her - but if anyone wants to help me out!!
Hope you like her.
Bye for now.

LIM Week 23 - Something with Legs
Hi everyone
Hope you all had a good week. Well Saturday has come round again and it's time for another challenge on the Less Is More Blog. First of all thought I would just like to say a huge THANK YOU to Chrissie and Mandi for Showcasing my pin wheel card, I was so chuffed.
Anyway onto today, and this weeks challenge is a one layer card "Something with Legs". Oh My! I thought and all kinds of ideas came to mind, but it finally rested upon this...
I wanted to do something bright and fun. The stamps are a Pink Petticoat freebie from a magazine.
Not sure how well it shows up, but I've coloured them with Sakura glaze pens as I wanted to give them a shine, and added a little touch of glitter to the bottom of each one. Gonna try and have a stab at another one now.
Have a good weekend.

New Baby
My friend Roxanne has just had a baby girl. Here is the card I'm going to send...
The photo hasn't done it much justice because it's got glitter on the flowers and round the edge (must try harder!!).
It's all from Craftwork Cards, the papers, Candi, flower and template. The Stamp is Paula Pascual.
Hope you like.

Fruity
Afternoon everyone,
So while Evie n Oli were at school, I've managed to make two cards. This one I'm entering onto PaperPlay Challenges. The theme there this week is 'Fruity'. I decided to go with Pink Petticoat's 'Life's Lemons', I think the papers are really bright and summery. However, I am struggling to 'bond' with my card, it's just not turned out how I planned. I'm sure it will grow on me, so here it is....
Would love to know what you think.
Bye for now.

What a Week!
Morning, well so far it's been a fab week - my birthday yesterday, been awarded Investors In Pupils status at the school where I work (it's abit like Investors In People, but aimed at the kids - anyway I co-ordinated the project and we got some fab feedback). Finally to put the icing on the cake - my pin wheel card has been ShowCASed on Less is More Blog, sooooo thrilled. Hope to get some cards done later, when Oli goes to school.
Hope everyone has a good week!

Less Is More - Shades of Blue
Hi everyone,
Can't believe Saturday has come round again so quickly. Had such a busy week at work and next week is set to get busier (nearly the end of term though!), so haven't had much chance to make anything, However, the kids today have gone out with their gran and grandad to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park and then back for a sleepover. So as it's going to be my birthday on Wednesday (yipeee) my hubby and I are going out for a lovely meal with some friends, I can't wait.
So it's been quite a relaxing day, I managed to get all the cleaning done this morning and though I would set too on this week's Less is More challenge which is Shades of Blue (I can't believe how many entries have already been submitted for this challenge and how fab they all look - aren't we a clever lot of LIMettes!!
Before I get to my card for this week I just wanted to say a huge, massive THANK YOU!! to everyone who left comments about my pin wheel card over the week. I ended up with 50 comments and they were all so lovely it really made my heart swell, you are all fab.
Anyway here is my card for this week...
The stamp is an old Craftwork Cards one called Elegant Grasses. I've stamped it in two Memento colours - Summer Sky and Danube Blue and then I've mounted it onto some dark blue card. The font is Scriptina. If you look carefully I've added some little clear gems onto the flower and under the sentiment. These were a steal - they were all over each table at the wedding we went to recently, so as the kids were getting restless I gave them a job of collecting as many as they could. Needless to say, I've quite a few now (well they would only have been thrown away!!!)
Anyway, that's enough jabbering on from me, I'm going to see what other gorgeous creations everyone else has been coming up with.
Bye for now.

Pin Wheels
Hi Everyone,
Hope you all having a good weekend, been a quiet day today, bit of shopping and playing out with the kids, but I did find time to make my card for the Less Is More Challenge. I actually woke up this morning thinking hurray its the weekend and oooh I wonder what Mandi and Chrissie have in store for me today. And it's a fab sketch...
So many ideas went floating through my head, and I came up with this...
Three pin wheels, I have to say I'm really chuffed with how it's turned out, as they were a tad fiddly. I've used Craftwork Cards Ice Cream Parlour - Fruit Scoop papers which are double sided and card candi to hide the middles. I've printed the sentiment in Scriptina font (I love that font!) and three little iridescent stones just for a touch of sparkle.
Hope you like it fellow LIMettes, I'm off to see what fab creations everyone else has come up with.
Bye for now

Another Card
Evening all,
Just got round to posting this card. I made it this afternoon, but time ran away with me and before I knew it it was school picking up time. So as I did one for the fella's I thought about a nice pink n girly one, I had loads of ideas floating round in my head, but I have to say I didn't enjoy making this one. I changed the background a couple of times, I sat and stared at it, smudged the glitter, and don't get me started on the bow!!! But anyway I finally got it done, my husband gave his honest opinion (I do ask him quite alot - he is a very honest guy!), and I got the photo's taken. So here it is...
The papers and image are Pink Petticoat, the sentiment, candi and card blank are craftwork cards. It hasn't shown up very well but each flower has glitter on it. I'm going to enter it into a few challenges and hope it 'cuts the mustard'.
Off to see Grease tomorrow night, there's 20 of us going and were taking our kids so myself and Evie are going, really looking forward.
Bye for now

Afternoon Everyone,
Well, what lovely sunny, hot weather we're having (not), but it does mean I don't feel guilty about taking myself away to my little back bedroom to do some 'pottering' while the kiddie winkies are at school. And here is what I've made...
There seemed to be quite a lot of challenges this week that fitted in with the theme of men, stars n stripes so I thought I would make this. He's from Pink Petticoat 'Hey Big Fella' (I tried to link to their blog, but think something might be wrong with it). The papers are also Pink Petticoat. I've coloured him with copics and paper pieced his ear. I'm going to send him on to a few challenges. Hope everyone has a great afternoon.

LIM Challenge - Monogram
Evening all
Well it's taken me a while to get my crafting hands into gear, been away two weekends on the trot now and it's starting to take it's toll. But here I am again with another Less Is More challenge, and the theme they have set us this week is Monogram. Quite easy some people may think, but I had to get the little grey cells working for this one as I wanted to make something that was going to be relevant to me. So I decided upon this...
K & D are my mum and dad's initials (Kathy and David), they are celebrating their Ruby wedding in September and I have been tasked with coming up with some designs for their party invitations. If I'm honest I'm really pleased with how its turned out. I've created it with Word Art keeping the initials simple but giving the '&' some swirl, I also made it slightly go over each letter 'linking' them both to each other, added a few little rhinestones, matted it onto red and black card and bob's your uncle. The jury's still out about the ribbon!
I'm also entering this card onto the Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge Blog where the theme is something Red! (Thanks Lisa) x
Let me know what you think.

Father's Day Card
Evening all,
I've done quite well today and made two cards. This last one is for my dad for Father's Day, and to give you an idea about him you only have to look at the image, that's my dad (apart from mine has a bald head!!!), he loves a good old snooze on the sofa. (He's still fab though and we all love him very much).
Anyway the image is from Digistamp Boutique, and I've coloured him with copics. Quite a plain and simple card but I just love the image so much, I didn't want to take anything away from it.
As there seem to be loads of father's day / male card challenges around, I'm entering him into a few:-
Cupcakecraft Challenges
Papertake Weekly
Fussy and Fancy
Crazy 4 Challenges
Sentimental Sundays
Won't be round much at the weekend, were all off to a wedding. So Have lovely weekends everyone.
