Bluebells

If you are looking for an update on the Candlelighter's Ladies Night scroll down to previous post

Hi everyone again,

I wanted to show you a card I made this week for a friend who asked me to make an 80th Birthday card.  The lady loves Bluebells and her friends even call her Blue.

I made a easel card with an image from Just Inklined and coloured it with copics.  The papers are Pink Petticoat.  The card blank and mats are from Craftwork Cards.

You can't tell clearly but each little bluebell has been covered in Glossy Accents.

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges:-

Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Bunny Zoe's - Anything Goes
Party Time Tuesdays - Anything Goes
Shopping our Stash - May Flowers
Divas By Design - Anything Goes

Have a fantastic Jubilee Weekend.

Less Is More - Mask It

Hi everyone, hope you are having a good weekend.

I can't believe I've got my Less is More card made on the same day as the challenge was posted (that's rare for me as it takes me a few days to get thinking).  Anyway after a slight panic over the one layer themed card of last week, I've actually gone and made another one layer card.  I was so thrilled with my little technique I've decided to do something along the same lines - but different!!

And, brace yourselves, here is briefly how I made it...

I found the template I wanted to use.  I drew round the small triangle 5 times.

I cut them out and used them as a template to place them onto my card.

I then used 5 separate sheets of A4 paper and traced the triangles through it, remembering to place the sheets at the same position each time.

I cut out each triangle and spray fixed a sheet to the front of my card.  I used different Pink Petticoat design, picking a different design for each sheet.  I'm really pleased with how it has turned out.  No printer jams or crinkled paper, the only slight downside is the use of printed ink on the A4 mask, but I can always punch out some flowers.

Hope you like it.

Less Is More - Script

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a good week.  I'm a bit late with my Less is More card this week.  Mainly because I struggled with this one, it seems to be the one layer weeks that I find the most difficult.  The theme this week was to use some script.  Now I don't have many wordy stamps and I must be the only crafter that doesn't yet own any distress inks, so that ended that.  What I do have is a wonderful CD from Pink Petticoat with some script on so I decided to use that...

My next question was how was I going to get my script onto a ONE LAYER card.  A-ha, the thought came to me in the middle of the night... I would make a mask, so I did.  I used a Craftwork Cards Build a Corsage plastic template, drew round it and cut it out, I then adhered it to the front of my card using Stick n Spray, I then stuck my card blank with mask to a piece of A4 card and ran it through my printer.  I was so chuffed that it worked.

Here's a close up.  I went round the edge of the petals with fine glitter and added a few crystals to the middle. I used black memento ink for my sentiment and voila.

Hope you like it, got to go now and prep 20 mothers day cards for a Rainbows group so they can make them tomorrow night.

Edit - I forgot to mention I'm going to also add this card to Wishcraft - Waste Not Wednesdays and its the first time I've used the template and ages since I've used the Pink Petticoat CD.

Bye for now.

Mother's Day

Hi everyone, this is just a quick post as very shortly I'm off to get my PJ's on and go and catch up on last nights My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding whilst my hubby is out (I just love that programme)!

Here is a card I've made - I think for my MiL for Mothers Day...

I just love those owls from Pink Gem Designs they are soooo cute, can't wait to use them again.  The papers and sentiment are from Pink Petticoat and the Candi I stamped with small letters. I coloured her with my Copics.

I love how her eyes are a bit wonky, like she's had one too many sherries!

I'm entering her into the following challenges:-

Allsorts - Anything Goes
CES Challenge Blog - Spots and Dots
Crazy 4 Challenges - Spots and Stripes

Bye for now.  Enjoy the rest of your evening (or day)!

Christening Card

Hi everyone,
Hope you've all had a good weekend.  It's been half term holidays in our area and so with the kids at home all week not alot of crafting has been done!  We've been busy out and about, baking and friends visiting.  Think I'm ready to go back to work tomorrow!

Anyway I did manage to squeeze a little card in this weekend.  My friends Roxanne and Alan were having their little girl Macy Christened today so I made them a card - but talk about last minute, I do sometimes like working under pressure, but on this one, the glue was still drying while I was putting my make-up on.

I have to say a very big THANK YOU to Gerda from The Stamp Fairy.  I ordered some of her Digi Stamps last night and something went wrong with my email account but I never received them, so after a frantic email this morning, she resent them for me, and here is the card...

She is called Linda Ballet and I coloured her with Copics.  The papers are Pink Petticoat.  I hope you like her, despite all the stress she's caused I'm really pleased with how it's turned out.

I'm entering her into these challenges:-

Allsorts - Anything Goes
DYSU - Layers
Papercrafting Journey - Make it Cute
Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge  -  73 Anything Goes
My Craft Spot - Girly Girl

Enjoy what's left of your weekend, hope to be back again next week.

A Card for Evie

Hello again, two in one day, it's a miracle.

It my daughter Evie's birthday on Wednesday and she will be 8 years old.  So I've been busy this afternoon while she was out with her grandma and grandad making her birthday card...

The image is from Digistamp Boutique and she's called Isabella Princess.  The papers I've used are from Pink Petticoat and the Mirri card has been embossed with daisies is from Craftwork Cards.  I've coloured her in with Copics and given her lovely glittery wings.  I hope she will like it.

I can't believe how quickly time has flown she has gone from this...

To this...

Pictured with her younger brother Oliver (centre) and cousin Harry (right). (That's now me in the background in case you were wondering, it's my sister in law). Oh how time flies.  Anyway enough of me gushing.  I am entering my card into the following challenges:-

Party Time Tuesdays - Birthday cards and projects

Think that's a record.  Anyway good evening, have to go now and get school uniform ready for tomorrow.

Bye for now.

Fabulous

Hi everyone, hope you all had a good Christmas and are gearing up for the New Year.  I'm still on school holiday and don't go back to work until next Wednesday, so I'm enjoying spending time with the family.  I have however, managed to get a card made for the Less is More challenge which this week is Just One Word.

I wasn't sure at first which word I was going to use - 'thanks', 'friend', 'love' etc. etc. the list is endless, but stumbled upon this word and knew I had just the thing to go with it...

I love printing my words straight onto my cards, it means they go on nice and straight and I'm not fiddling cutting out (I do struggle with straight).  The images are Mini Diva Doodles from Pink Petticoat which I've left white, just coloured the flowers and added some glitter.  I then finished with embossing a little frame round each handbag, think it's turned out quite well.

I'm also entering this card into the colourQ challenge - black, white and one other colour.

The last thing for me to say is I hope everyone has a great New Year and look forward to 2012.

Love

Bring on the BLING

Hi everyone, hope you all having a good day.  It's abit windy up North, but that's not stopped my darling 3 year old boy going to school in his SHORTS!!!

Anyway I'm nicely tucked away in my little back bedroom with the second post of the week (wow, can't believe it).

This one is for the Less is More challenge which this week is Bring on the Bling!  I haven't done a LIM challenge for sometime, other things just seemed to get in the way of getting any crafting done.  So I was pleased when I finally got down to making a card for this one, and here it it...

I cut out a Christmas tree shape onto card with a free template I had and with my Art Institute glue covered the whole thing and then sprinkled on lovely lovely green sparkly glitter, added a few red gems and a sentiment from Pink Petticoat there you have it, and it really is quite sparkly.  I'm pleased with how it's turned out as this was a lightbulb moment at three in the morning, and you just never know with those ideas.

Hope you like it.

Winter Blue's

Hi everyone, well it's been a long while since I last posted anything on here.  I have been looking at what's been going on though.  It's just been such a busy time with work, kids and three craft fairs under my belt.  Hopefully now I can start blogging again.

I met one of my blogging friends the other day, Lisa Jane from My Makes 'n' Me.  I won some of her Candy and we realised we lived within 5 miles of each other so she popped by for a cuppa.  We had a lovely chat and got on really well so I hope to see her again soon.

Anyway, I wanted to show you a card I made recently.  I'm also entering this card into the Ladybug Craft Ink Challenge which is named 'Winter Blues'....

The image is an old Elzybells stamp teamed up with some Pink Petticoat papers and Craftwork Cards Candi.

Hope you like it.

Have a lovely weekend.

Christmas is on its way

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a good Sunday.

I've been busy making some Christmas Cards.  I am going to be selling them at local craft fayres later in November and December, but just thought you might like a look...

This one is an elzybells stamp that I've coloured with Copics.  I've also used some Pink Petticoat papers and a message from Craftwork Cards.

This is also an Elzybells stamp with PP papers and a CC message.  I'm really pleased with how they've turned out.

If you are knocking around in Mirfield November / December I'm going to put on the fayres I will be doing at a later date.

Hope you like them.

New Baby Boy

Hi everyone, Happy Saturday Afternoon

My kids have gone to stay with grandma and grandad for the night (yippee) which means that I've been able to sneak away and do some crafty pottering.

My friend and hairdresser Zoe has recently had a baby boy.  Not only does she do a fab job with my barnet but also asks me to make alot of cards for her, weddings etc. So I thought I would make one especially for her...

I have to say I struggled a bit to start with getting a layout sorted in my head, but then I glanced upon DawnyP's layout for her Simon Says Stamp challenge card, so I took my inspiration from her - Thank you!  The papers are from the Jayne Nestroenko Summer Adorables CD Rom and the Image is from Pink Petticoat.

I've coloured him with Copics and glittered him for a bit of sparkle.  I've also decorated the inside - a bit!

I'm going to enter this into some challenges...

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Button / Ribbons / Free (Gems)
The Ribbon Girl - use ribbon

Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by.

LIM Week 23 - Something with Legs

Hi everyone
Hope you all had a good week.  Well Saturday has come round again and it's time for another challenge on the Less Is More Blog.  First of all thought I would just like to say a huge THANK YOU to Chrissie and Mandi for Showcasing my pin wheel card, I was so chuffed.

Anyway onto today, and this weeks challenge is a one layer card "Something with Legs".  Oh My! I thought and all kinds of ideas came to mind, but it finally rested upon this...

I wanted to do something bright and fun.  The stamps are a Pink Petticoat freebie from a magazine.

Not sure how well it shows up, but I've coloured them with Sakura glaze pens as I wanted to give them a shine, and added a little touch of glitter to the bottom of each one.  Gonna try and have a stab at another one now.
Have a good weekend.

Fruity

Afternoon everyone,

So while Evie n Oli were at school, I've managed to make two cards.  This one I'm entering onto PaperPlay Challenges.  The theme there this week is 'Fruity'.  I decided to go with Pink Petticoat's 'Life's Lemons', I think the papers are really bright and summery.  However, I am struggling to 'bond' with my card, it's just not turned out how I planned.  I'm sure it will grow on me, so here it is....

Would love to know what you think.
Bye for now.

Another Card

Evening all,
Just got round to posting this card.  I made it this afternoon, but time ran away with me and before I knew it it was school picking up time.  So as I did one for the fella's I thought about a nice pink n girly one, I had loads of ideas floating round in my head, but I have to say I didn't enjoy making this one.  I changed the background a couple of times, I sat and stared at it, smudged the glitter, and don't get me started on the bow!!! But anyway I finally got it done, my husband gave his honest opinion (I do ask him quite alot - he is a very honest guy!), and I got the photo's taken.  So here it is...

The papers and image are Pink Petticoat, the sentiment, candi and card blank are craftwork cards.  It hasn't shown up very well but each flower has glitter on it.  I'm going to enter it into a few challenges and hope it 'cuts the mustard'.
Off to see Grease tomorrow night, there's 20 of us going and were taking our kids so myself and Evie are going, really looking forward.
Bye for now

Afternoon Everyone,

Well, what lovely sunny, hot weather we're having (not), but it does mean I don't feel guilty about taking myself away to my little back bedroom to do some 'pottering' while the kiddie winkies are at school.  And here is what I've made...

There seemed to be quite a lot of challenges this week that fitted in with the theme of men, stars n stripes so I thought I would make this.  He's from Pink Petticoat 'Hey Big Fella' (I tried to link to their blog, but think something might be wrong with it).  The papers are also Pink Petticoat.  I've coloured him with copics and paper pieced his ear.  I'm going to send him on to a few challenges.  Hope everyone has a great afternoon.

Meljens Challenge No 60 - Kraft plus one

Morning all.
Before I go and entertain my children who are on half term holiday I wanted to share this card with you which I made last night for the Meljens Challenge, Kraft plus one.  To use Kraft card plus another colour somewhere in your design.  I decided to make the base card from Kraft card.  The pink spotty backing paper is from Pink Petticoat.  The design is one of Meljens, "Birthday Cupcake".

I love her designs, they are so lovely to colour.  I sometimes print off large A4 size ones as my little girl likes to colour them in.  Anyway I wanted to keep the colouring quite simple and so I used my Sakura Gelly Roll pens, which I've not used for ages and then covered the icing with Art Institute Crystal Glitter, not sure how well that shows on the photo.
Anyway hope you like it, I love getting comments so feel free to leave any.
I'm off now for a bike ride with the kids, its a nice sunny day here so we need to make the most of it.

Bye for now.

Pink and Lilac Challenge No 8

Hi everyone,
It's my day off today (hurray) and both kids are at school, so once the hoover has been round and the tea slowly cooking in the oven I had a bit of time to myself.  So I thought I would make a card to enter into this weeks challenge at The Ribbon Girl.  The theme is pink and lilac so its right up my street.

I've used:-
Cardstock & Candi :- Craftwork Cards
Backing paper:- Pink Petticoat
Stamp - LOTV
Coloured with Copics (still a bit of a learning curve)

I also made my own little flowers which I learnt on a recent workshop with Craftwork Cards, they are really easy to do.

I'm also entering this card in two other challenges:-

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Pale Pretty Pastels
Bearly Mine Challenges No 11 - Die Cuts and Lace

Hope you like it.
Bye for now
