Pin Wheels

Hi Everyone,
Hope you all having a good weekend, been a quiet day today, bit of shopping and playing out with the kids, but I did find time to make my card for the Less Is More Challenge.  I actually woke up this morning thinking hurray its the weekend and oooh I wonder what Mandi and Chrissie have in store for me today.  And it's a fab sketch...

So many ideas went floating through my head, and I came up with this...

Three pin wheels, I have to say I'm really chuffed with how it's turned out, as they were a tad fiddly.  I've used Craftwork Cards Ice Cream Parlour - Fruit Scoop papers which are double sided and card candi to hide the middles.  I've printed the sentiment in Scriptina font (I love that font!) and three little iridescent stones just for a touch of sparkle.
Hope you like it fellow LIMettes, I'm off to see what fab creations everyone else has come up with.
Bye for now

Another Card

Evening all,
Just got round to posting this card.  I made it this afternoon, but time ran away with me and before I knew it it was school picking up time.  So as I did one for the fella's I thought about a nice pink n girly one, I had loads of ideas floating round in my head, but I have to say I didn't enjoy making this one.  I changed the background a couple of times, I sat and stared at it, smudged the glitter, and don't get me started on the bow!!! But anyway I finally got it done, my husband gave his honest opinion (I do ask him quite alot - he is a very honest guy!), and I got the photo's taken.  So here it is...

The papers and image are Pink Petticoat, the sentiment, candi and card blank are craftwork cards.  It hasn't shown up very well but each flower has glitter on it.  I'm going to enter it into a few challenges and hope it 'cuts the mustard'.
Off to see Grease tomorrow night, there's 20 of us going and were taking our kids so myself and Evie are going, really looking forward.
Bye for now

Afternoon Everyone,

Well, what lovely sunny, hot weather we're having (not), but it does mean I don't feel guilty about taking myself away to my little back bedroom to do some 'pottering' while the kiddie winkies are at school.  And here is what I've made...

There seemed to be quite a lot of challenges this week that fitted in with the theme of men, stars n stripes so I thought I would make this.  He's from Pink Petticoat 'Hey Big Fella' (I tried to link to their blog, but think something might be wrong with it).  The papers are also Pink Petticoat.  I've coloured him with copics and paper pieced his ear.  I'm going to send him on to a few challenges.  Hope everyone has a great afternoon.

LIM Challenge - Monogram

Evening all

Well it's taken me a while to get my crafting hands into gear, been away two weekends on the trot now and it's starting to take it's toll.  But here I am again with another Less Is More challenge, and the theme they have set us this week is Monogram.  Quite easy some people may think, but I had to get the little grey cells working for this one as I wanted to make something that was going to be relevant to me.  So I decided upon this...

K & D are my mum and dad's initials (Kathy and David), they are celebrating their Ruby wedding in September and I have been tasked with coming up with some designs for their party invitations.  If I'm honest I'm really pleased with how its turned out.  I've created it with Word Art keeping the initials simple but giving the '&' some swirl, I also made it slightly go over each letter 'linking' them both to each other, added a few little rhinestones, matted it onto red and black card and bob's your uncle.  The jury's still out about the ribbon!
I'm also entering this card onto the Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge Blog where the theme is something Red! (Thanks Lisa) x

Let me know what you think.

Father's Day Card

Evening all,
I've done quite well today and made two cards.  This last one is for my dad for Father's Day, and to give you an idea about him you only have to look at the image, that's my dad (apart from mine has a bald head!!!), he loves a good old snooze on the sofa. (He's still fab though and we all love him very much).

Anyway the image is from Digistamp Boutique, and I've coloured him with copics.  Quite a plain and simple card but I just love the image so much, I didn't want to take anything away from it.

As there seem to be loads of father's day / male card challenges around, I'm entering him into a few:-

Cupcakecraft Challenges
Papertake Weekly
Fussy and Fancy
Crazy 4 Challenges
Sentimental Sundays

Won't be round much at the weekend, were all off to a wedding.  So Have lovely weekends everyone.

Wedding Card

Hi everyone,

Not manage to make many cards this week, what with work etc. but here's one I've made for a wedding we are going to this weekend.  Our friends Tim and Em.  The image is from Digistamp Boutique and I've coloured them with promarkers.  I've also added some crystal glitter to her vail.  I hope they like it  I know green isn't a very wedding type colour but wanted to colour the car green so needed to co-ordinate.

Going to enter this card into two challenges:-

Sweet Sketch Wednesday
Passion for Promarkers.

Sorry its a short post, got to dash out now - Kids!!!

See you soon

LIM - Week 19 - In the Frame

Hi again,

So after Take That and then the pampering weekend, I'm a bit behind with everything, I didn't really look at any challenges last week, but really wanted to have a go at this one.  This week at Less is More it's a one layer week entitled "In the Frame".  I have to say I did struggle a little with this one, but here is the card...

I've inked the stamp (which I've had for ages and never used therefore can't remember were I got it from) with Memento Grape Jelly ink, and painstakingly had to hand draw the black frame around edge.  I did have to add just a touch of glitter here and there.  Although it's probably one of the simplest of cards I've ever made, it took ages.  I am quite happy with it, but I might have a stab at some more ideas I've got swimming around.  Here's a closer look..

Hope you like it.

See you all soon.

I'm Back ...

Hi Everyone,
Wow it's been a busy week.  Went back to work on Monday and had loads of stuff on with the kids, taking them to parties etc. so didn't get any crafting done.  Then this weekend I've not been at home.  I left work on Friday afternoon and drove with my mum and two friends straight to Manchester to see Take That, it was brilliant we had the best time, my photo's are rubbish but my friend Alison has taken some fab one's!  Here's one of mine...

If you can just make out the five of them all standing in a row, but it does give you a good idea of where we were sitting. We had fab seats.

Then Saturday I was packed and ready to go for a Spa weekend at Hoare Cross Hall, I went with my good friend Caroline and some of her work colleagues.  It was wonderful, I had a pedicure and a facial, spent a lot of time by the pool and Jacuzzi.  I wondered round the place all day in my swimming costume and towelling robe, it was just luxurious.  In the evening we were feeling quite decadent so we ordered some Champagne and strawberries - it didn't last long I can tell you.

So now it's back to reality with a bump, and hopefully I can get a few more cards done - before we're away again for a wedding at the weekend!!

See you soon with a LIM challenge card.

Father's Day Card

I have to admit, I don't really like making cards for fella's, but I've had this Elzybells stamp set for some time now and never used it, until now!  And I did quite like making it.

I've coloured him with copics and the papers are DCWV "Nana's Nursery".

I'm going to enter him into 3 challenges:-

Papertake Weekly Challenge - No 56 - Sketch
StampARTic - Blue, Purple and White
Oldie but a Goodie - Lots of Layers

Less Is More - Week 18 - Colour - Monochrome - 2nd attempt

So after I made the black and white card for the Less is More challenge, I decided to have a go at another one.  Again I've used Paula Pascual stamps and sentiment.  I love her stamps.  However, I'm not so sure about this one.  Normally once I've made a card and I keep looking at it, it starts to grow on me, but this one just isn't.  I'm not sure if it's a little too 'simple' and maybe does need something extra.  I am my own worst critic (apart from my husband, who does give very a honest critique).  I also made a little faux pas on one of the flowers which puts me off abit - but hey ho we can't be perfect all the time!!

Let me know what you think.

Less Is More - Week 18 - Colour - Monochrome

Hi all, hope you are having a lovely sunny day.  Not quite sure where the sun has gone round my neck of the woods, it seems to be hiding behind lots of cloud, but at least its given me an excuse to have a potter and make some cards.

The card I've made is for the Less is More challenge Week 18 which is Monochromatic i.e black and white or any colour so long as you stick within that shade.  I have to admit I was a little wary at first, I do sometime struggle putting colours together, I can sit and stare at ink pads and papers for so long I get a little confused, but once I got started with this one I really enjoyed.  I've actually made two cards for this challenge, a black and white one and then a coloured one.

For this one I've used Paula Pascual stamps for both the flowers and the sentiment.  I've added a little black rhinestone to each of the flowers and (it's not quite clear) but each of the white flowers is raised up on foam pads (honest!).

Hope you like it.

One-Layer Wednesday 56: Father's Day

Hi, I thought I'd give this challenge a go over at Simplicity, it's the first time I've done one on this blog and, it was a bit of a challenge!  I'll be honest I've got more crafty things than you can shake a stick at (just ask my husband), but male orientated I have not.  The stamp I've used is only one of two male type stamps I've got, but I do like it, it's quite a cute little character.  I've coloured him with Copics and the sentiments are Elzybells, which very sadly are no longer around.

I made it with my dad in mind and tried to base the colours around his favourite football team Leeds Utd. he's been a big fan of theirs since he was a small boy.  Anyway, hope you like it.

Meljens Challenge No 60 - Kraft plus one

Morning all.
Before I go and entertain my children who are on half term holiday I wanted to share this card with you which I made last night for the Meljens Challenge, Kraft plus one.  To use Kraft card plus another colour somewhere in your design.  I decided to make the base card from Kraft card.  The pink spotty backing paper is from Pink Petticoat.  The design is one of Meljens, "Birthday Cupcake".

I love her designs, they are so lovely to colour.  I sometimes print off large A4 size ones as my little girl likes to colour them in.  Anyway I wanted to keep the colouring quite simple and so I used my Sakura Gelly Roll pens, which I've not used for ages and then covered the icing with Art Institute Crystal Glitter, not sure how well that shows on the photo.
Anyway hope you like it, I love getting comments so feel free to leave any.
I'm off now for a bike ride with the kids, its a nice sunny day here so we need to make the most of it.

Bye for now.
