I everyone, hope you are all having a great week in all this lovely sunshine, hasn't it been wonderful.

Just wanted to say Hi to you all and let you know that I am still around, it's just been mega busy here this week, the kids have had loads on at school and in the evenings, so once they have gone to bed and settled at around 8.30pm I'm knackered and unfortunately I think the old mojo is too!!

I have made some cards this week, three to be exact but just not got round to downloading them onto the computer, that's how unmotivated I've been this week.

Anyway no more doom and gloom.  I am going on holiday next week...

To Playa Blanca, Lanzerote.  So hopefully after a week of doing nothing much, with lots of sun and a good old play with the family, I might come back feeling more refreshed and ready to role.

Hope you all have a fantastic Easter and will be back week after next.

Card for Nancy

Hi all

Hope you are having a good day.  My friend's little girl, Nancy, will be one this Thursday, so as I've an hour or two free this afternoon, I thought I would make her card...

A little easle card.  Quite quick and easy.  A while back I got a Craftwork Cards Warren Goodie Bag, so I've used the contents from that, added a touch of glitter to the flowers and butterflies and there you have it.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:-

Papertake Weekly - Bingo - Die/Free/Glitter
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards - Feathers and Fur
Heidis Hobbystuggu - March Challenge - Animals
Simply Create Too - It's Spring
Sparkles Forum Challenges - Mother's Day or Spring (I've gone for Spring)

Think that's all for now, got another couple of birthday cards to make, so best crack on!

Bye for Now

Less Is More - Mask It

Hi everyone, hope you are having a good weekend.

I can't believe I've got my Less is More card made on the same day as the challenge was posted (that's rare for me as it takes me a few days to get thinking).  Anyway after a slight panic over the one layer themed card of last week, I've actually gone and made another one layer card.  I was so thrilled with my little technique I've decided to do something along the same lines - but different!!

And, brace yourselves, here is briefly how I made it...

I found the template I wanted to use.  I drew round the small triangle 5 times.

I cut them out and used them as a template to place them onto my card.

I then used 5 separate sheets of A4 paper and traced the triangles through it, remembering to place the sheets at the same position each time.

I cut out each triangle and spray fixed a sheet to the front of my card.  I used different Pink Petticoat design, picking a different design for each sheet.  I'm really pleased with how it has turned out.  No printer jams or crinkled paper, the only slight downside is the use of printed ink on the A4 mask, but I can always punch out some flowers.

Hope you like it.

Less Is More - Script

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a good week.  I'm a bit late with my Less is More card this week.  Mainly because I struggled with this one, it seems to be the one layer weeks that I find the most difficult.  The theme this week was to use some script.  Now I don't have many wordy stamps and I must be the only crafter that doesn't yet own any distress inks, so that ended that.  What I do have is a wonderful CD from Pink Petticoat with some script on so I decided to use that...

My next question was how was I going to get my script onto a ONE LAYER card.  A-ha, the thought came to me in the middle of the night... I would make a mask, so I did.  I used a Craftwork Cards Build a Corsage plastic template, drew round it and cut it out, I then adhered it to the front of my card using Stick n Spray, I then stuck my card blank with mask to a piece of A4 card and ran it through my printer.  I was so chuffed that it worked.

Here's a close up.  I went round the edge of the petals with fine glitter and added a few crystals to the middle. I used black memento ink for my sentiment and voila.

Hope you like it, got to go now and prep 20 mothers day cards for a Rainbows group so they can make them tomorrow night.

Edit - I forgot to mention I'm going to also add this card to Wishcraft - Waste Not Wednesdays and its the first time I've used the template and ages since I've used the Pink Petticoat CD.

Bye for now.

Mums The Word

Hi everyone

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend, wasn't the weather gorgeous, got the grass cut, the car cleaned and the washing out.  It was a very busy weekend.  My husband and myself along with some friends were at a Ball on Saturday night helping to raise money for a little girl with pancreatic cancer and Sheffield Childrens Hospital where she is being treated.  I will try and get a photo of us in all our finery on tomorrow.

Anyway, for now I've got a Mother's Day card to show you, (it's a good job my MiL doesn't see my blog)...

The papers and card are all from Crafwork Cards which I have had for ages.  Hope she likes it.  I'm entering this into the following challenges:-

Oldie but a Goodie - Mums the Word (Papers are my Oldie)
PaperCrafting Journey - Anything Goes

Hope to be back later in the week.

Bye for now

New Look

Hi everyone, nothing too exciting today but was just fiddling around in Blogger and decided to chance my profile picture.

You may have noticed for a while that there has been a lovely black labrador as my profile pic.  That was Alice my gorgeous dog whom I had for 13 years but is sadly no longer with us.

Anyway, don't seem to have many pics of me, (mainly of kids and cards), but this one was taken by my father in law at New Year.  I've been using it for my facebook page for a while and now decided to change my blog pic.  It's nice to finally put a face to a name I think.

Bye for now

Less Is More - Neutral

Hi everyone, hope you all had a good weekend, they just fly by.

Just a short post tonight as I'm shattered but wanted to get this card on for the Less is More challenge as my husband is working from home all this week and I'm not sure when I can get the computer back!

Anyway the lovely LIM ladies decided on a colour theme, that being Neutral and boy oh boy did I struggle, but after a little thought with a cuppa I came across this idea...

I have a DCWV Neutral paperstack and as I was flicking through decided to use the last six colours in the pack, those being beige, grey and black.  I punched out the circles and hearts and made them into a topper adding 3D foam pads to the back to give a little lift.

I'm pleased with how it has turned out.  Hope you like it too!

p.s sorry about the photo, but it's late and there's no light whatsoever!

Bye for now

Less is More - Don't Scrap It

Hi everyone and happy March!
The weather in West Yorkshrie is glorious today and long may it continue (even pegged the washing out)!

I'm really late with my card for the Less is More challenge this week - Don't Scrap It.  I've had this card idea in my head for a while but never got round to doing it, so here it is...

I saw something recently on Pinterest, but she had just used white dots so I got my inspiration from that.  I keep all my scraps of card in a concertina folder under the desk, the scraps of paper I keep in folders depending on where its from i.e Craftwork Cards, Pink Petticoat etc.  I have loads of scraps of white card as I'm sure you all do, but these were from some Order of Service I made for a friends wedding.  After the Service had finished, I walked round church collecting all the ones that had been left behind (well I'd used really good card and I wasn't going without them!).  The coloured flowers are from scraps of CC's Ice Cream Parlour papers.  I'm sorry if some of them look abit wonky - I did try my best.

I must also apologise as I haven't been a very good blogger this week and I've not left many comments, I do hope to rectify that tonight!

Bye for now.
