Mother's Day

Hi everyone, this is just a quick post as very shortly I'm off to get my PJ's on and go and catch up on last nights My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding whilst my hubby is out (I just love that programme)!

Here is a card I've made - I think for my MiL for Mothers Day...

I just love those owls from Pink Gem Designs they are soooo cute, can't wait to use them again.  The papers and sentiment are from Pink Petticoat and the Candi I stamped with small letters. I coloured her with my Copics.

I love how her eyes are a bit wonky, like she's had one too many sherries!

I'm entering her into the following challenges:-

Allsorts - Anything Goes
CES Challenge Blog - Spots and Dots
Crazy 4 Challenges - Spots and Stripes

Bye for now.  Enjoy the rest of your evening (or day)!

Less is More - Die's or Punches

Hi everyone, this is just a quickie this morning before me and Oli head out. I wanted to get my Less is More card up to show you.  This weeks theme is to use dies or punches, here is my take on it...

The die is a spellbinders one called Ironwork Motif, which I bought just before Christmas but never used.  I used the main die and cut it out twice.  I give them a dusting of light pink chalk, curled them and stuck them with foam pads to give them some dimension and then added the seed pearls with glossy accents and attached a lovely shocking pink ribbon.

I am really pleased with how its turned out, however they are not the easiest things to use as the card gets really stuck in the die and as its so fragile it took me a few attempts without ripping them.

I'm also entering this into The Play Date Cafe Challenge which is to use Hot Pink...

Hope to come a visiting you all this afternoon, bye for now.

Christening Card

Hi everyone,
Hope you've all had a good weekend.  It's been half term holidays in our area and so with the kids at home all week not alot of crafting has been done!  We've been busy out and about, baking and friends visiting.  Think I'm ready to go back to work tomorrow!

Anyway I did manage to squeeze a little card in this weekend.  My friends Roxanne and Alan were having their little girl Macy Christened today so I made them a card - but talk about last minute, I do sometimes like working under pressure, but on this one, the glue was still drying while I was putting my make-up on.

I have to say a very big THANK YOU to Gerda from The Stamp Fairy.  I ordered some of her Digi Stamps last night and something went wrong with my email account but I never received them, so after a frantic email this morning, she resent them for me, and here is the card...

She is called Linda Ballet and I coloured her with Copics.  The papers are Pink Petticoat.  I hope you like her, despite all the stress she's caused I'm really pleased with how it's turned out.

I'm entering her into these challenges:-

Allsorts - Anything Goes
DYSU - Layers
Papercrafting Journey - Make it Cute
Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge  -  73 Anything Goes
My Craft Spot - Girly Girl

Enjoy what's left of your weekend, hope to be back again next week.

Less is More - Aqua No. 2

Hi everyone (again)!

Just a short one now, this is my second card for the Less is More challenge...

The stamp is from Stampin Up Pretty Petals, the sentiment is Paula Pascual.  I don't actually own any bakers twine but I do have an abundance of embroidery threads from my cross stitch days and I found the perfect match.  Hope you like it.

Got half an hour now before I go and get the kids from school so, Snow Patrol is on the CD and I'm off to visit the other LIM ladies.
Bye for now

More Glittery Butterflies

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a good day.  The weather here in Yorkshire is rubbish, grey and miserable but so far no snow!

Anyway if you saw my Less is More card yesterday you know the theme is Aqua, and I did struggle getting the colour right.  The first card I made was this...

but I thought it was too pale for that challenge.  So I have decided to enter it into the Runway Inspired Challenge.

I did get my inspiration from Laura's card (one of their DT) so thank you!  I'm sorry the card looks abit washed out, the light on an afternoon here is now just terrible, it is a pale blue card - honest!  I punched my butterflies out of Double sided adhesive and glittered them with Art Institute fine glitter.

Hope you like it.

Bye for now.

Glitter Butterflies

Hi everyone, just a quick post tonight, cos I'm shattered.  I went to see Snow Patrol last night in Sheffield, I love them and it was absolutely fantastic, I came out buzzing and although we got home within 40 minutes of leaving I couldn't get to sleep until about 2am and was then up at 7am for work. If you ever get opportunity to see them DO, it will be one of the best concerts you ever go to!

Anyway I've got my card for the Less is More Challenge this week.  Congratulations Mandi and Chrissie on being 1 year old, an amazing achievement, I do look forward to my Saturday mornings to see what they have go in store for us.  This weeks theme is Aqua, I struggled a little (even googled it to get an idea),  I did a couple of attempts at this card.  The second one is being entered into another challenge,  but here it is...

I got the idea from Laura at Double Stick Heaven, but instead of squares I did butterflies.  I used double sided adhesive which I punched and then glittered with fine glitter.  I think they look quite good, you could do them in no end of colours.

Bye for now.

Less is More - Sketch

Hi everyone, hope you have all had a good day.  Wednesday is nearly over so roll on the weekend.  I have however had quite a good day.  Some may know that I work in a Special School for children with complex needs and today I was down in the Primary end of school.  This afternoon they had a visit from the Fire Service in their lovely red fire engine, this made most of the female staff a little bit giggly (including myself), but we had a good afternoon and the kids loved it.

Anyway enough rambling.  It's my friend's birthday on Saturday so I thought I would combine that with the Less is More challenge.  This week Mandi and Chrissie want us to work with a sketch...

I do like working with sketches, especially when Mr Mojo has gone away for a few days, and here is my card...

I wanted to make something really bright and colourful (think I'm ready for a change in season), so I randomly stamped Paula Pascual stamps with various memento colours.  I then circle punched the solid flowers and overlayed them adding glossy accents to give them more shine.  I am quite pleased with the overall effect.

Hope you like it.  I haven't had much time to visit your cards this week, but I'm hoping that when the kids go to bed to sit a while and have a good old nosey.

Bye for now.
